May 2nd is Michigan's M-15 Garage Sale. It stretches 60+ miles from Clarkston to Bay City. Portsmouth Township is offering free space for township residents to setup tables and canopies outside at the Portsmouth Township Hall. Limited space is available, and will be allotted on a first come, first served basis. The event will take place rain or shine. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Yard Waste...
Yard waste removal will begin on April 3rd. Please make sure all materials are in marked receptacles, yard waste bags, or properly bundled. Branches may be no larger than 2 inches in diameter and 4 feet long, and must be bundled or placed in yard waste bags.

Election News...
The permanent AV (Absentee Voter) Lists will no longer be maintained by the State. It will now be up to the voter to request an application for each future election unless you signed up for the Permanent Ballot List.

Permanent Ballot List:
If you signed up for the Permanent Ballot List you will automatically receive an Absentee Ballot for all future elections that you are eligible to vote in. If you receive a ballot for an election that you don't want to vote in, simply destroy the ballot or return it in person to the clerk's office to be spoiled.

You will remain on this list unless you request, in writing, to be cancelled or are no longer living in the State of Michigan.

If you are a "snowbird" or will be away from your home address for an election, it is up to you to notify the clerk of your temporary address. Ballots cannot be forwarded by the Post Office to a temporary address.
